The Chimaera Australian Oil & Gas model measures the performance of the Australian based energy sector within the ASX listed equity universe. The index includes approximately 40 of the largest publicly-traded companies in energy exploration, development and production and generation that meet specific investability and liquidity requirements.

As the model is designed to provide a comprehensive and objective indicator of the Australian energy sector, it is reconstituted regularly to ensure the very large stocks by capitalisation, including the diversified energy and resource companies as well as the major energy distribution companies, do not distort the performance and characteristics of this sector.
